Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta
Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta is one of India’s most celebrated vocalists, renowned for her versatile repertoire across Rabindrasangeet, Indian classical, modern, and devotional music. Trained in both Hindustani classical and Rabindrasangeet traditions, she has carved a distinctive place as a performer, composer, and interpreter of Tagore’s works.
Her voice has graced stages in India, Bangladesh, the UK, the US, and Europe, and she is widely admired for her ability to blend technical precision with emotional depth. Among her many contributions, her complete recording of all 2,023 songs of Rabindranath Tagore remains a landmark achievement that showcases both her artistry and dedication.
A recipient of several awards and honours, Swagatalakshmi continues to inspire audiences with her soulful renditions and her lifelong commitment to carrying forward Bengal’s musical heritage for newer generations.

The Samar Jayanti Paul Memorial (SJPM) is a cultural initiative dedicated to celebrating music, memory, and community.
It is envisioned as an annual concert that brings together acclaimed artistes and audiences in an evening of shared reflection and joy.
